Poll

Jensen

The last poll that I had up is tied. Therefore, I am adding more stories to the poll for you to vote upon which story you want to read next in The Dark Horse series.

Which story do you want to read next?

Dark Congregation
0(0.0%)
Desperado
3(100.0%)
The Forgotten
0(0.0%)
The Creature Within
0(0.0%)

Dark Congregation
- John comes home after a hunt to find Sam and Dean gone. All that is left is a note that tells John that he messed with the wrong person. (April 1999)

A continuation of The Dark Horse that takes place roughly a year after the events. The story revolves around the lengths people will go in order to enact revenge and those caught in the crossfire. The character of "Frankie" from The Dark Horse is present and Dark Congregation goes farther in-depth with his character as well as his connections with Ben Seraph and inadvertently John Winchester.

Series Mythology Level - Moderate

Desperado - John Winchester's idea of a family vacation involved an old, abandoned Wild West town filled with ghosts. (June 1993)

This story is just a light, fun stand-alone tale that involves the Winchesters actually being a family together. It steps away from the intense mythology of the series and dives into the basic fundamentals of father and sons.

Series Mythology Level - Low

The Forgotten - John had seen a lot of things in his first years of hunting. Never had he seen a monster that targeted only children before. (April 1990)

This story is a monster-of-the-week type story. At the same time, it's a highly John emotional story as he struggles with the sheer inhumanity of what he hunts.

Series Mythology Level - Low

The Creature Within - Every hunter had a story that explained how they got into hunting. John never cared much for those stories until he heard the terrifying tale of Caleb Lyon's introduction to the supernatural. (December 1995)

This story isn't just about Caleb and his past. There is a storyline, a hunt, and lots of the Winchesters to go around. This story helps link Caleb to the mythology of the series.

Series Mythology Level - Moderate

I voted for Desperado- I think that a "light hearted" story is needed after the all the angst

It's so hard for me to decide which stories to write, because I'm so eager to write all of them. Haha. Thank you for voting.

Poll
It looks like Desperado is the one on top of list of what to read next but could we have a bit of Dark Congregation to go along it just seems since Dark Horse has just finished... (btw... excellent story especially with the last bit of heartache added when the 4 Winchesters were sitting around the table... could picture that... just curious as to who you would pick as the grandfather)... As for They Came at Night... just waiting for the last update.... also intense seeing things through a child's eyes...

Re: Poll
I'm glad that you enjoyed the end with Gabe sitting with the two younger generations of Winchesters. It was a scene I wanted to do for so long. Who would I pick to play the grandfather? Well, who else could play a Winchester except for the actor who brought to life Jim Rockford, Bret Maverick, and Lt. Hendley? Mister James Garnder of course! I love James Garner and think he's a fantastic actor. So, if the boys were to ever meet their grandfather on the show, I'd want him to be played by James Garner. Haha, I have actors picked out for all of the characters in The Dark Horse series, that way I can easily imagine what their facial expressions or the way they present themselves would actually look like.

"They Came at Night" will be updated soon. I'm going to be working on it today actually.
